Island Bay, Wellington captures the feeling of a peaceful walk along this beautiful coastal spot. The ocean waves, the movement of the harakeke (flax) in the breeze, and the mix of blue and cloudy sky create that familiar Wellington seaside atmosphere.

A small red boat resting by the shore caught my attention and inspired me to bring this scene to life through clay. Like many New Zealand beaches, there is a quiet beauty here — fresh air, open skies, and the calming rhythm of the ocean.
