FAQs
I wanted to design art that resonates deeply with those on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. The Intuition Collection is all about celebrating growth, transformation, and the beauty of receiving.
2. How long does the clay artwork last?
- The artwork is made using non-dry clay modelling clay or polymer clay.
- Both types of clay will last for many years.
- They are firm enough to retain their shape indefinitely.
3. How do you create your clay art pieces?
For the pieces I create using non-dry clay, I primarily use my fine and small spatula to craft my signature textures. The non-dry clay comes with its own colors, and I mix and shade them to achieve the desired palette for each piece. Once complete, I frame the artwork and cover it with a sheet of glass to prevent any deformities in case someone touches the piece. For my ceramic clay pieces, I use my hands and various tools, along with pottery paints called underglazes and glazes, to bring unique textures and colors to life.
4. Will the clay shrink or change colour over time?
- No, the clay used in the artwork will not shrink or change colour over time.
- It's recommended to keep the art piece away from direct sunlight to avoid any physical changes.
5. Can I commission a custom piece?
Absolutely! I love working on custom pieces that reflect your personal journey. Feel free to reach out with your ideas, and we can create something special together.
6. I am moving house and I need to store the artwork for a period of time. Do you have any tips? Do I have to store it flat?
- When storing the artwork, it's best to take several precautions to ensure its safety during the move.
- Begin by wrapping it carefully using a layer of acid-free paper to protect it from dust and potential scratches.
- Add a second layer of something similar to packaging paper cushioning wrap for added protection.
- Ideally, place the wrapped artwork inside a sturdy cardboard box or a transparent box with a secure lid to prevent dust and damage during transportation.
- If you must store it flat, ensure that the artwork is placed facing up to avoid any clay pieces detaching from the board due to gravity. Even though I apply enough pressure during creation, if it is stored facing down for an extended period, this could potentially occur.
7. What makes your greeting cards unique?
I offer two different card designs. The reusable greeting cards can be used over and over again by inserting sheets inside (I’ve added measurements on the back of the card for precision). I’ve also designed plantable and reusable cards, which are eco-friendly and infused with flower seeds, making the entire card a gift that keeps on giving.
8. How do I spot-clean the frame? Are there any special instructions?
- Spot-cleaning the frame is a delicate process to maintain its pristine condition.
- Start by using a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe away any dust or smudges on the frame's surface.
- Avoid using water or cleaning solutions, as they may damage both the frame and the artwork.
- However, if you need to clean the glass area to remove fingerprints or other spots from different materials, follow these steps:
- Use a glass cleaner like "Mr. Muscle" specifically designed for glass surfaces.
- Take a clean cloth made from cotton fibers.
- Apply the glass cleaner sparingly onto the cloth, rather than directly onto the glass.
- Gently clean the glass using circular strokes to ensure a streak-free finish.
- Be cautious not to let any cleaning solution come into contact with the frame or artwork, as it can cause damage.
